The Image Scanner follows an OCR-first process. Selecting an image only shows a preview. No score is generated until OCR has successfully completed.
When an image contains AI-generated text, the OCR-extracted text is analyzed for formal, template-style, and AI-related phrasing. If known AI-tool metadata is found, the AI signal is strengthened accordingly.
If an image has no readable text, text-based AI detection is not possible. In that case, the app reports that no reliable text signal was found, rather than showing a misleading 50/50 result.
