About

A professional image compressor for the modern web.

Image Compressor is a photo optimizer built to compress images, reduce image file size, and convert image formats with studio-grade controls. Use it as a jpeg compressor, png optimizer, or webp converter; run batch image compression; crop and resize images for social, product, and editorial layouts; and compare the original against the encoded result before you download.

Encoding happens locally in your browser via the Canvas API. Files you open are not sent to a remote processing service by this page. Redrawing an image removes EXIF, GPS, color-profile, and other metadata. Animated GIFs are flattened to a single frame. Codec availability (especially AVIF) depends on the browser you use.

Compression results, file-size savings, visual fidelity, format compatibility, and encoding success are not 100% guaranteed and may vary by device, browser, source file, and settings. Always independently preview and verify every output before publishing, printing, archiving, or using an image in commercial, legal, medical, or other sensitive contexts. You use this Image Compressor entirely at your own risk. The operators, authors, and affiliates accept no liability for data loss, quality degradation, metadata removal, failed conversions, missed deadlines, intellectual-property claims, or any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use or inability to use this tool. You are solely responsible for the files you process and for complying with copyright, privacy, and publicity laws.

Batch image compression

Queue dozens of photos and apply one consistent encode across the set.

Resize & crop

Fit max edges, exact pixels, or platform presets such as Instagram and Open Graph.

Pre-process

Rotate, flip, sharpen, and tune brightness, contrast, and saturation before encode.

Target file size

Aim for a kilobyte budget. Confirm the result — the budget is not always reachable.

Frequently Asked Questions

The tool re-encodes each photo with your chosen codec (JPEG, PNG, WebP, or AVIF), quality, and dimensions. Re-encoding, resizing, and cropping are the primary ways a photo optimizer shrinks bytes. Because every source file is different, you must preview the compressed image and confirm that sharpness, color, and file size meet your standards. Results are not guaranteed and should be verified before publishing.
